Escort Monitoring Systems held a workshop for transport telematics professionals in East Africa

Specialists from Escort team discussed how monitoring systems can help reduce fuel and showed participants how to implement a sensor and integrate it with a tracker and monitoring platform.

Fuel prices are increasing rapidly, and there is no sign of this trend slowing down. Escort Monitoring Systems invited system integrators and anyone interested in transportation telematics from across Eastern Africa to learn how to benefit from this situation and optimize fuel costs.

In a small theoretical part of the master class, Tim Almaev, and Natalya Stepanova from Escort Monitoring Systems shared what cost savings, efficiency improvements, and real-time data benefits fuel level sensors provide for fleet management. Yayo Muhamad from Pilot Telematics also spoke about how to protect a car with a GPS tracker and a wireless relay. Together they shared real cases and how our monitoring equipment has helped clients to solve them.

At the presentation, the Escort team showed a wireless fuel level sensor, a fuel quality sensor (fuel level correction probe), a fuel level sensor with a built-in GPS tracker, an angle rotation sensor, and other solutions of Escort Monitoring Systems.

The most interesting part awaited the participants after that. Escort Monitoring Systems brought a truck to the venue and showed how you can quickly make tank calibration to speed up the process of installing fuel sensors. This was realised thanks to Garvex equipment, the tank calibration station.

Over 60 companies and more than 80 representatives attended the workshop, including Controltech Limited, KK SECURITY, Precision Tracking, RiverCross Tracking, Techwise, i-Spy Africa, and others. Networking was an essential part of this event. Participants were able to connect not only with one another but also with representatives from Escort Monitoring Systems and Pilot Telematics. Also, all participants received a special offer from the Escort team: the opportunity to get a training course for up to five members of their team for free.

“I’m so excited that you have this workshop with us in Kenya. We’ve had very nice experiences. All our customers have been really happy when they learned that you are coming to Nairobi. We are already tracking over 70 trucks via sensors. I must applaud the technical support from Escort. They are here for us any time of day or night. The event today is about training and demonstrations. They’ve really been nice and informative. We want you to do it again anytime soon. We really appreciate it”, – Benard Limo, Technical and Operations Director of Precision Tracking.

“The East African market is very important to us. We see that integrators are well aware of the benefits of fuel monitoring and how it helps end customers to reduce fuel costs, which account for more than 24% of all fleet maintenance costs. However we also see that partners are interested in developing transport monitoring and implementing other solutions, such as tilt angle sensors and cold chain monitoring sensors. It’s nice that the workshop has aroused such interest. The integrator teams want to gain knowledge about our solutions,” says Natalia Stepanova, Manager of Escort Monitoring Systems, MEA market.

Bilal Muthama, Customer Support & IT Director from ControlTech Limited, also shared his thoughts on the event: “This is wonderful, it truly brings people together. We’ve learnt a lot about fuel sensors and new products. People got really motivated thanks to your workshop. Face-to-face visits are the best!”.

The attendees gained valuable knowledge and practical skills that will help optimize fuel costs and improve the efficiency of their business. Escort team thanks everyone for their participation and expresses the hope that the knowledge gained will be useful.
